Description of the website

The website of Immunize Canada is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN).

Immunize Canada is a national not-for-profit coalition with a specific interest in promoting the understanding and use of vaccines as recommended by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), Canada’s national advisory committee which makes recommendations for the use of vaccines currently or newly approved for use in humans in Canada.

Immunize Canada’s mission is to contribute to the control/elimination/eradication of vaccine-preventable diseases in Canada by increasing awareness of the benefits and risks of immunization for all ages via education, promotion, advocacy and media relations.

Immunize Canada’s website provides the general public and health professionals with educational materials and tools in various formats, including: factsheets, brochures, pamphlets, a mobile app, videos and webinars. All materials on vaccine safety are provided free of charge and are widely disseminated through Immunize Canada’s vast networks, including social media, electronic newsletter, and e-mail communications.

Website's sponsorship policy

Immunize Canada receives funding from government members and sponsor members. All sponsors are subject to Immunize Canada’s Ethical Sponsorship Guidelines.

Website's editorial policy

The content on immunize.ca is evidence-based and reviewed by Immunize Canada’s Executive Committee, which includes the Chair, Vice Chair and Past Chair.
